Orthodontics for children (interceptive)

Orthodontics for children

The Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO) and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommend that all children receive their first orthodontic evaluation at age 7.

An early evaluation does not necessarily mean that treatment is required at a young age. However, for some children, interceptive orthodontic treatment may be beneficial to ensure proper dental or skeletal development. For other children, the immediate benefit of an early evaluation is peace of mind for parents.
